TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
.FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Once again our Scripture readings focus on
the use of our material possessions.
Our first reading from the
Book of Amos is a condemnation to those who hoard their own
wealth. The Gospel from St. Luke paints a vivid
picture of what awaits those who ignore
the poor and the less
fortunate. While we know that everything we own will be left behind
when we die, yet our world urges
us to place our hopes in the promise of happiness when
we accumulate possessions and
wealth.
But let us always remember that the
promise of eternal life is the one promise that
will always be with us and
one that will never pass away.
