TWENTY-FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

 

.FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

        For a number of weeks now, we have been listening to some challenging Scripture Readings.

   This week’s Gospel especially is one of the most difficult to put into practice, for it calls into

   question many of our own life choices.

        We live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world and we are excessive consumers

   of our earth’s resources.  While many people go hungry each night, a majority of our country’s

   citizens are overfed and overstuffed.

        Now the Lord does not say that we should not have food, money and possessions.  His is a

   challenge about how we share our food, money and possessions with others.

        Are you generous with what the Lord has provided for you?

    St. Joseph’s Restoration Fund Raising Appeal – we have collected $644,580.65 in pledges and cash   

   donations from 864donors. Have we received your donation yet?  We need everyone in the parish

   and those affiliated with our  parish to contribute to our appeal.  Please consider pledging at least $1000 over

   a 3-year  period toward the restoration of our church. Your tax deductible donation can be given in your name

   or “In Memory” of loved ones.  Your positive  response will be acknowledged on a special  plaque which will

   be placed in the church.  Thank you for your financial support.

 

   Sacred Heart Society – is sponsoring a trip to Częstochowa on Sunday, September 30th.   The bus will leave

   from 10th & Liberty Sts.at 9:30 AM and return from Częstochowa at 4:15 PM.  Cost is $25 per person.

   For reservations, please call Ann Stasiewicz at 227-6147.  There is still room on the bus

 

   St. Joseph’s Senior Citizens wish to thank everyone who purchased tickets for the restaurant certificates.

   We sincerely appreciate your support.  The winners were:  Ann Stasiewicz and Dolores Gravinese.

 

    Rosary Society – Do you recite the Rosary daily?  Then why not consider becoming a member of the Rosary

    Society and join us on the first Sunday of every month before the 10:30 AM Mass to recite it with us.  New

   members (men and women) will be installed during the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, October 7th.  For more

   information or to let us know that you wish to become a member,  please call Jeanette Dudek, President at

   931-5066 or Pat Kwoka, Membership Chair, at 310-1783 by Wednesday, October 3rd.

 

   Parish Council Meeting – will be held this morning after the 10:30 AM Mass in the lower parish hall.

 

   Senior Citizens Monthly Meeting will be held this Thursday, September 27th at 12 noon in the lower parish

   hall.

  Church Bulletin which you may wish to share with a friend.
