      First Friday – September 7^th – devotion to The Divine Mercy will begin at 7:45 AM and devotion to the

      Sacred Heart will begin after the 8 AM Mass with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

       Last week Bishop Galante has appointed me as temporary Administrator of St. Stephen’s Parish in Pennsauken.  However, I will still remain Pastor of St. Joseph’s Church.  Nevertheless, in order to accomplish this challenging task of administering two parishes simultaneously, I will have to split my time and duties between the two.

        St. Stephen’s is a very busy and vibrant parish with a parish school and convent. 

Therefore, until the situation at St. Stephen’s is rectified and stabilized I will not be at St. Joe’s every weekend/every day to say Mass.  In my absence, other priests of the Diocese will be called upon to help out here at St. Joe’s.

        I pray that this situation will be short lived.  Meanwhile, please keep me in your prayers.

  Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, Cherry Hill, NJ will hold their Annual Country Fair   

  and Gala Polish Festival on their Convent grounds, next Sunday, September 9, 2007,   11 AM – 7 PM. 

  Homemade Polish, Italian and American foods will be served, along with funnel cakes, potato pancakes and hot

  dogs.  Authentic Polish and other ethnic arts and crafts will be on sale at very reasonable prices.  Amusements

  will be provided with games of skill and chance for adults and children.  Day-long entertainment and music for

  dancing will be provided by Chuck Pendrak, The Ambertones and Andy Citkowicz. 

 

    St. Joseph’s Restoration Fund Raising Appeal – we have collected $639,007.18 in pledges and   

   cash donations from 863 donors. Have we received your donation yet?  We need everyone in the parish

   and those affiliated with our  parish to contribute to our appeal.  Please consider pledging at least $1000 over

   a 3-year  period toward the restoration of our church. Your tax deductible donation can be given in your

   name or “In Memory” of loved ones.  Your positive  response will be acknowledged on a special  plaque

   which will be placed in the church.  Thank you for your financial support.

 

   Sacred Heart Society – is sponsoring a trip to Częstochowa on Sunday, September 30^th.   The bus will leave

   from 10^th & Liberty Sts.at 9:30 AM and return from Częstochowa at 4:15 PM.  Cost is $25 per person.

   For reservations, please call Ann Stasiewicz at 227-6147.  There is still room on the bus.  Payment must

   be made no later than September 14^th.

 

   St. Joseph’s Seniors – are sponsoring a restaurant gift certificate raffle during the months of

   July, August and September.  Two prizes worth $50 each will be chanced off on Sunday, September 16, 2007    

   after 10:30 AM Mass.  The restaurants are Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Chances will be sold after all   

   Masses and by members of the Senior Center.  Cost of tickets is $2 each or 3 for $5.

 

   St. Joe High School Summer Reunion for all Alumni on Saturday, September 15^th from 4 PM – 8 PM

   at LaCosta’s, 40^th & Landis Ave., Sea Isle City - $20 in advance & $25 at the door.  For more information,
