THE SOLEMNITY OF OUR LORD JESUS
CHRIST THE KING
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
On this last weekend of the Church Year, we follow
salvation history to its completion, liturgically, by celebrating the Feast of
Christ the King. The very last words we
hear in today’s Gospel are those that the Lord Jesus addresses to the repentant
thief hanging on the cross next to him.
“Amen, I say to you, today you
will be with me in Paradise.” As we
look back on this liturgical year let us be thankful for all that God has
accomplished in us and for us during the year; remembering especially His
greatest gift of our redemption and the promise of Eternal Life.
May
Christ our Lord and King continue to reign in our hearts!
