THE SOLEMNITY
OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
During the month of May, Catholics around the world honor the Blessed
Virgin Mary as our spiritual mother.
She is so venerated because of the unique role she played in God’s plan
of salvation. Mary became the Mother of
God.
The Church has reflected upon the
significance of Mary throughout its history.
The early Church honored Mary primarily because of her role as the
mother of the Savior and because Mary was free from original sin.
Although the role of Mary in the
Church is essentially centered on Christ, she stands biblically and traditionally
as the person in whom the human and divine are united. This mystery has drawn countless numbers of
Christians over the centuries to devotion to Mary.
Let us remember that Mary brings us
closer to Christ. As we meditate upon
her role, especially during the month of May, let us pray that we will one day
be welcomed into the Eternal Life with Christ in heaven.
We pray that Mary, the Mother of
God, may intercede for our world, so that we may live the harmony and peace
given to us by her Son, Jesus.
