THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Having
completed a lengthy process of consultation with the people and priests of the
Diocese, the parish deanery planners and the Diocesan Planning Commission,
Bishop Joseph Galante announced his intentions for the reconfiguration of all
the parishes of the Camden Diocese on Thursday of this week.
I am extremely
happy to report that the Bishop announced that our Church of St. Joseph will
remain “a stand alone parish” i.e. we will remain as is, without any change.
I am grateful to our parish planning committee (Joanna
Bak, Susan Carr, Theresa Glab, Dot Zduniak and Henry Szychulski) who labored
and lobbied over these months for the result we all wanted. I pray that with God’s help, we, as a
parish, will continue serving the Lord and His People at St. Joseph’s Church
for many years to come.
Father
Ed Lipinski
Our annual
Solemn Eucharistic Celebration (known as “40 Hours Devotions”) will be held this
Sunday, April 6th. It will begin after our 10:30 a.m. Mass with
procession and Litany of the Saints.
The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed upon the altar all day Sunday
until the closing service at 5 p.m. At
that time the Albert RoSewig Vespers, of which we are all familiar, will be
sung by our parish Choir of St. Lucia’s followed by homily, litany, procession
and Benediction.
Please make a point of coming during the afternoon
and spending some time before the Blessed Sacrament in prayer and adoration in
thanksgiving to God for all the blessings you have received. This is a special time of grace and
indulgence for our parish and for all those who visit/attend our day of
Eucharistic Celebration.
